Held for impersonation

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: A teenager's bid to help his elder brother clear the 10th class mathematics exam was thwarted by alert invigilators at the Wesley Boy's High School near Paradise in Secunderabad on Saturday.

Police said the 16-year-old boy, a resident of Monda Market, was appearing for the SSC advanced supplementary examination in place of his elder brother when invigilators verified his hall-ticket and noticed something was amiss.

The photograph on the hall ticket was different from the one they had received officially . On being confronted, he confessed to writing the exam to help his brother. Ramgopalpet Sub-Inspector P. Srinivasulu said a case of cheating by impersonation was registered against the boy. He was arrested and later released on bail.
