Property dispute: man murdered

BANGALORE: A 55-year-old man was murdered allegedly by his brother's son over denial of a share in the family's ancestral property in Bidadi on Saturday.

According to the police, Siddaraju, the accused, was angry with his uncle, Siddaramaiah, over denial of a share in an ancestral property.

He had a verbal duel with his uncle in the latter's house and in a fit of rage, allegedly hit his uncle with a heavy stick. Siddaramaiah fell on the floor.

Neighbours called the police, who shifted Siddaramaiah to a local hospital.

The victim died at the hospital.

The Bidadi police have launched a search for Siddaraju.

Robbed

Three persons robbed a salesman of Rs. 6,500 in cash and a mobile phone on Magadi Road on Saturday.

According to the police, Ravi Kumar, who is employed with a private telecom company, was waiting for a local bus to reach Kempegowda bus station.

He was planning to go to Hassan.

He was offered a lift by a driver of a van.

After covering some distance, three persons in the vehicle hit Ravi Kumar and snatched the cash and the mobile phone, the police said.

Killed in accident

A 41-year-old maulvi died after a truck hit the motorcycle he was riding in the Byatarayanapura Traffic Police Station limits on Sunday.

The police gave the name of the deceased as Hamidullah, resident of Kambipura.

The accident occurred at Sukkur Circle near Kengeri. A seriously injured Hamidullah was admitted to a private hospital where he breathed his last in the evening, the police said.

The police are looking for the absconding truck driver.

Suicide

A I Pre-University student committed suicide by hanging herself to death at her residence on Saturday.

The police gave the name of the girl as Kavya (16), resident of Narasimhapalya in Kamakshipalya Police Station limits.

The police have registered a case of unnatural death. Investigation is on.

Drowns

An 11-year-old boy drowned in Koodlu Tank in the Parappana Agrahara Police Station limits on Saturday.

The police gave the name of the boy as Munikrishna, son of Seenappa and a resident of the same area.

The boy was a student of sixth standard of the Government Higher Primary School, Koodlu.

The police said that he had ventured into the tank for a swim.
