The bed of the irrigation tank on the eastern boundary of Raj Bhavan, Guindy, and the lands adjoining the tank, not exceeding 200 acres immediately above the tank bed, have been selected by the Madras Government for the location of the proposed higher technological institute for the South. Portions of the villages of Kanagam, Taramani and Tiruvanmiyur may also be acquired to meet the additional acreage required for the institute.
