Vendors warned

Staff Reporter

SALEM: Salem Corporation will not allow vendors to set their shops on the platforms in New Integrated Bus Stand, its Commissioner M. Jayaraman said.

Participating in the public grievances redressal meeting presided over by Mayor J. Rekha Priyadarshini here on Monday, the Commissioner said that the platforms were meant for the use of passengers.

Setting shops on the platforms would cause immense inconvenience to the travelling public, he told a group of vendors.

However, the Commissioner assured them that the civic body would make alternative arrangements. Earlier, the Mayor received petitions seeking various amenities from residents.
