Series premiering on National Geographic Channel



BATTLING THE BEAST: A scene from "Most Dangerous Moments" that will be aired on National Geographic Channel on June 26.

NEW DELHI: Taking television viewers on a roller coaster ride of extreme danger and thrill is a ten-part series, "Most Amazing Moments", premiering on National Geographic Channel this coming Monday.

Exhilarating events

From feasting predators to dramatic displays of nature's wrath, the series basically is a collection of some of the most shocking, exhilarating and awe-inspiring events that have been captured on film. It covers every corner of the globe with startling new footage and rarely seen events.

Speaking about the upcoming series, Rajesh Sheshadri of National Geographic Channel, India, says: "For decades, we have captured the imagination of the world with spectacular imagery. Through this series we present some of the most astounding footage ever captured on film. With a truly phenomenal line-up, we are looking at promoting this series innovatively not only on-air but also through various off-air activities thus giving it a 360 degrees approach. "

Some death-defying events ranging from rescues on land, air and sea to predators unexpectedly becoming prey themselves will be aired in the "Most Daring Moments" episode on June 18.

The episode "Most Astounding Moments" will be shown on June 19. It will focus on disasters, a volcano's bubbling lake and animals that were saved in the nick of time.

Most incredible moments like people and animals teetering on the brink of disaster and daring filmmakers who risk their lives to take pictures will be aired on "Most Astonishing Moments" on June 20.

"Most Amazing Moments" will be aired on June 21 and June 22 showcasing killer frogs, a hurricane in the house and a mile-high freefall to the jaws of an angry shark.

Moments like a predator having a face-to-face encounter with prey and people looking death in the face are captured on film is "Most Amazing Close Encounters" on June 25.

The "Most Dangerous Moments" episode will be aired on June 26 and show real moments of extraordinary danger.

Moments when people and predators push themselves to the limit and beyond will be shown in "Most Extreme Moments", to be telecast on June 27.

In the quest for heart-pumping adrenaline rush, some people go to any lengths. Some of the most amazing moments of awesome daredevilry will be shown in "Most Thrilling Moments" on June 28.

"Monster Croc" that will be aired on June 29 will try to find out whether giant crocodiles really exist. Some 30 years ago in Papua New Guinea, wildlife expert Romulus Whitaker had measured the skin of a record-breaking salt-water crocodile at just over 20 feet.
