Isolated rain in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at most places over Kerala and coastal Karnataka, at many places over Lakshadweep and at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema and interior Karnataka.

Eluru (West Godavari dt) and Mangalore recorded heavy rainfall of 9 and 8 centimetres respectively.

The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimetres are:-

Aluwa (Ernakulam dt), Thondebhavi (Kolar dt) and Tanuku (West Godavari dt) 5 each, Chembarambakkam (Tiruvallur dt), Kasargod, Gudivada (Krishna dt), Bhimavaram (West Godavari dt), Devarakonda (Nalgonda dt), Gannavaram and Karkala (Udupi dt) 4 each.

FORECAST (valid until Wednesday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep, at many places over south interior Karnataka and at a few places over north interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh.

Heavy Rainfall Warning: Isolated heavy rain is likely to occur over coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep in the next 48 hours.
