Top stars in fray

KOLKATA: The country's best talent will be in action in the four-day third National ranking prize money archery tournament, which gets underway at the SAI, Eastern Centre from Tuesday.

Sixteen crack shooters in the men's recurve and compound bow sections each and eight leading ladies in each section will enliven the proceedings to select a 16-member Indian contingent for the 44th world outdoor championship to be held at Leipzig in Germany from July 7 to 15.

Leading the men's charge in the recurve section will be National champion Jayanta Talukdar. The ladies recurve section will see the top four — Dola Banerjee, Chekrovolu Swuro, National champion L. Bombayla Devi and young Punya Prabha in action. — Special Correspondent
