2 held in murder case

BHUBANESWAR: The city police arrested two persons in connection with the murder of a contractor that had taken place in full public view near Kalinga Hospital here on June 3.

Trade jealousy was the main reason for the murder, said investigating officer Jugal Mallick of Chandrasekharpur police station on Monday.

Petty contractor, Gobardhan Sahoo (34), was hacked to death near Kalinga Hospital on the evening of June 3 and assailants had run away taking advantage of darkness.

While Santosh Jena (30), the main accused, was arrested, from Unit-III area, his accomplice Siba was caught from Patharbandh slum near Utkal University on Sunday, said Mr. Mallick. Police also recovered sharp weapon used by the miscreants to kill Sahoo. The two were forwarded to court on Monday.
