Dog attacks constable
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE:
In the second such incident in the past one week, a night beat policeman was bitten by a stray dog in Siddapura police station limits in the early hours of Monday.
The police said assistant sub-inspector Puttaswamy Gowda and constable Narasimha Murthy, attached to the Siddapura police station, were on duty at Someshwaranagar on a motorcycle.
Mr. Murthy got off the vehicle and signed a point book at a house. While he was walking back towards the motorcycle, a street dog bit him in his leg. Mr. Gowda took him to a hospital and got him a rabies vaccine, the police said.
A few days ago, around 3.30 a.m. another stray dog bit a night beat constable, Mari Gowda, while he was on duty at K.R. Road-Vanivilas Road in Basavanagudi police station limits.
