Thiruvananthapuram
The Army seems to have created much goodwill among the public in fever affected areas. The Armed Forces Medical Service (AFMS) has opened camps in four districts. There is no dearth for medicines in the treatment centres. The Army has already flown in two tonnes of medical supplies for its operations in the State.
Free medicines
It is willing to supply more free of cost if the need arises. The public, particularly in rural areas such as Amboori, is all praise for the uniformed doctors. The camps are efficiently run and the doctors, despite their army fatigues, are empathetic towards patients. The Army is also likely to assist the State Government in its vector control operations. A high level AFMS team has arrived from Pune to investigate the dengue and chikungunya outbreak in the State.
