KADAPA: Kadapa Superintendent of Police Y. Nagi Reddy inaugurated a police sports ground, designed on the lines of the one conceived by Oxford University in 1860, at District Police Training Centre (PTC) here on Monday evening. The ground having eight mud tracks is the first in district after Gatchibowli stadium in Hyderabad which has eight synthetic tracks, the SP said. Ninety-five police personnel were being trained in the centre. Football, hockey and volleyball courts would be laid in the ground, he said. A new dormitory at the cost of Rs. 4.50 lakh was being built in the PTC, Mr. Nagi Reddy said. A computer training centre for the police personnel would be built with Rs. 5.60 lakh sanctioned by District Collector M.T. Krishna Babu. The SP thanked additional Superintendent of Police (Operations) and PTC Principal A.S.C. Wesley, DSPs, Circle Inspectors, Reserve Inspectors, Sub-Inspectors, and donors who contributed towards development of the sports ground. Mr. Wesley, Armed Reserve DSP K. Sekhar and others participated.
