NLC office ransacked

CUDDALORE: Certain miscreants ransacked the office of C. Govindarajulu, Deputy General Manager (Education) and Secretary of Neyveli Lignite Corporation-run schools, at Neyveli when he denied free admission to English medium courses on Monday. The intruders picked up a quarrel with Mr. Govindarajulu and damaged the computers, chairs and files. When they tried to pounce upon him, watchman Veerasamy intervened. The latter was physically assaulted.

In this connection, the NLC management had placed two employees under suspension. Mr. Govindarajulu said that they upon the management to allow free education from VIth to Xth Standards in the English medium sections of the NLC-run schools.

Since, these were aided schools, the Government rules on the class strength, up to a maximum of 60, should be strictly followed. If the rules were violated, the schools ran the risk of losing the Government aid
