CHENNAI: The State Government on Tuesday held talks with the TASMAC Employees Union on issues relating to job regularisation, eight-hour duty, weekly holiday and conveyance allowance. The union, affiliated to the All-India Trade Union Congress, was represented by its general secretary K. Raman and president P.S. Soundarapandian.
Government panel
The Government side comprised the Secretaries of Finance, Home and Prohibition and Excise departments. The Managing Director and general manager of TASMAC also participated, a union release said. The union took part in the discussion on invitation from the State Government, and the meeting decided to take appropriate action on the basis of the demands made during the talks, the release added.
