Kannada leaders meet Kumaraswamy

Belgaum: A delegation consisting of members of the Belgaum District Kannada Organisations Action Committee and led by their president Ashok Chandargi on Monday met Chief Minister H.D. Kumarswamy and apprised him of the administrative problems of Belgaum district.

According to a release issued here on Tuesday, the zilla panchayat administration had been affected after Chief Executive Officer M.E. Shivalingmurthy, a KAS officer was promoted as IAS and appointed as deputy commissioner of Belgaum district.

However, he continued to hold the additional charge of CEO. Last week, he had been sent for training for about two months.

The delegation urged the Chief Minister to finalise the land for establishment of Suvarna Vikas Soudha in Belgaum and lay foundation stone at the earliest.

The Chief Minister, however, advised the delegation to meet him once again to discuss the issues threadbare after June 19, the release added.
