Light rain likely in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at most places over Kerala, at many places over coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep and at a few places over Tamil Nadu and south interior Karnataka. Isolated rainfall occurred over Andhra Pradesh and north interior Karnataka.

The following stations recorded very heavy to heavy rainfall in cm: Arani (Thiruvannamalai dt.) 16, Kozhikode 13, Paravur (Ernakulam dt.), Thrissur and Kochi Airport 9 each and Ketti (Nilgiris dt.) and Kasargod 7 each.

The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cm are: Mulki (Dakshina Kannada dt.), Shirahatti (Gadag dt.) and Vadakara (Kozhikode dt.) 6 each.Ongole recorded the highest maximum temperature of 41 degree Celsius in the region.

FORECAST (valid until Thursday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over coastal and south interior Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, north interior Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Telangana.

Heavy Rainfall Warning: Isolated heavy rain is likely to occur over Kerala, coastal Karnataka, and ghat areas of south interior Karnataka during the next 48 hours.

Farmers Weather Bulletin for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry (Forecast valid until Thursday morning): Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at a few places over all the districts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
