Indian Embassy in Oman active, says Ravi

Staff Reporter

KOCHI: Indian Embassy officials in the cyclone-hit Oman, with the support of various voluntary organisations, are actively engaged in helping out Indians in distress there, said Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi here on Tuesday.

At the Cochin International Airport, he told mediapersons that so far the Embassy had received reports about the death of six Indians. A resident of Andhra Pradesh who was initially reported missing is currently undergoing treatment.

The Embassy is taking the initiative to supply clothes and other essential commodities to the Indians affected by the calamity.
