Shuttari stars in BUA's win

HYDERABAD: Rashid Shuttari (105 not out) helped BUA score a two-wicket win over HFFC `A' in the Coronet Cup cricket tournament here.

The scores: HFFC `A' 184 for four (D. Sai Baba 44, Dilip 43 not out, Andrew Ferro 56 not out) lost to BUA 190 for eight (Rashid Shuttari 105 not out).

Challengers CC 201 for eight (M. Sai Shireesh Kumar 62) bt HFFC `B' 115 for eight (Shravan 43).

Silicon Business Solutions 155 for eight (M.A. Ali 75) lost to Locuz Info 157 for seven (Manohar 75 not out).

Two players from Andhra Pradesh — P.P. Parameshwari and R. Sai Hemamalini — will represent India in the South Asian netball championship in Colombo from June 15 to 17.

Shakeel Ahmed (Mahabubnagar) will be the coach while B. Siva Ram (Krishna district) and Suhael-ur-Rahman (Mahabubnagar) will be the assistant coaches. Parameshwari, a student of St. Ann's College (Hyderabad), will be the vice-captain.

Easy for Nav Bharath

Nav Bharath Hockey Club (Hyderabad) scored a 4-2 win over Nainital District Sports Association and entered the pre-quarterfinals of the 85th All India Traders Cup invitation hockey tournament in Nainital on Tuesday.

Suresh Singh (2), Manohar Singh, Raju scored for the winner while Pavan Kumar and Kiran Joshi reduced the margin.

Indoor cricket

ML Jaisimha Cricket 365 Academy will organise the seventh indoor cricket National championship from June 26 to 30 here, according to Vidyuth Jaisimha, chief coordinator of the Academy.

There will also be an open indoor cricket tournament for men (below 33 years of age) from June 17 to 20 to pick the Hyderabad team for the Nationals. Entries close by June 16. Contact 32964963 or 32964973.
