Engineer's family thanks Manmohan
Sibsagar:
The parents of Assamese engineer Debashish Kakoty, who was released on Monday night after being abducted in Nigeria nearly a month ago, have praised the Centre for taking the initiative to free their son.
Talking to PTI, Kakoty's father, Ajit Kakoty, and his mother, Kumkum thanked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for taking up the matter with Nigerian authorities.
His sister Lata Hazarika said the love and support of the people of Assam, their neighbours and the media helped them to cope with the mental agony during the 25 days he was held captive. Kakoty and his colleague Sunil Dave were abducted from their residential quarters in Port Harcourt on May 19. They were working with Indorama Company in the Rivers state of Nigeria. PTI
