KANNUR: Two persons died in two separate road accidents on the National Highway at Palathara, near Kaivellur, here. Palery Thaivalappil Narayani, 50, of Kodakkad died when two private buses coming from opposite directions collided at an accident-prone stretch of the road at Palathara at around 11 a.m. She was on board one of the buses. More than 50 passengers on the buses suffered injuries. A two-wheeler rider was killed when his vehicle hit a lorry near the same spot late on Monday night. The deceased was identified as Abhilash, 27, of Kodakkad. He died while being taken to Pariyaram Medical College Hospital here.
