KOCHI: The Kerala Congress-S has accused Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader K. Karunakaran of defending the land-grabbers of Munnar. In a statement, general secretary P.M. Radhakrishnan said it was because of the irresponsible actions of former Chief Ministers like Mr. Karunakaran as well as former Revenue Ministers that thousands of acres of Government land had been encroached upon. Mr. Radhakrishnan criticised Mr. Karunakaran's statement that had he been the Chief Minister, he would not have demolished the resort buildings and hotels, but taken them over. Had the buildings been not demolished, Mr. Radhakrishnan said, the encroachers would have got them back using legal loopholes.
