Water supply to be hit

NEW DELHI: Because of interconnection work between Haiderpur Water Treatment Plant Phase II and a new recycling plant, water supply will be available at low pressure on Wednesday evening in several parts of Delhi. The affected areas include Vasant Kunj, Munirka, JNU, Green Park, Safdarjung Enclave and Development Area, Katwaria Sarai, Jia Sarai, Adchini D Block, Janakpuri and adjoining areas. Also affected would be Sagarpur, R. K. Puram, Sadullah Jab, Lado Sarai, Ber Sarai, Arjun Nagar, Gautam Nagar, Yusuf Sarai, Haus Khas, Naraina Village, C and B Block Naraina, Delhi Cantonment, Vasant Vihar, Moti Bagh and Rohini Sectors 1 to 8 and 11, 13, 23, 24, 25.

Directive to BSES

NEW DELHI: Delhi Finance Minister A. K. Walia and Power Minister Haroon Yusuf on Tuesday asked senior BSES officials to immediately take corrective measures to prevent frequent power breakdowns in East Delhi.

Dr. Walia instructed BSES to install transformers and low-tension cables as per the plan prepared for 2006-07.

Factory licences

NEW DELHI: Delhi Mayor Arti Mehra on Tuesday said the Municipal Corporation would allow renewal of municipal factory licences for more than one year. She said in case of industries and factories falling under the "green category" as per the parameters of the Delhi Pollution Control Committee, the term of renewal would be three years. "In case of industries and factories falling under the `orange category', the licence would be renewed only up to March 31 ," said Ms. Mehra.
