Cash awards distributed

LEARNING EXPERIENCE: A section of the audience at the launch of The Hindu's Newspaper in Education Programme at Nehru Memorial Model Secondary School at Attupuram, Kollam.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : The Newspaper in Education Programme of The Hindu and the cash award function of the top scorers in the All India Secondary School Examinations of 2006-07 were held at Nehru Memorial Model Secondary School, Attupuram, in Kollam on June 9.

S. Saleena, faculty member of the school, who did her schooling in the same school welcomed the gathering. In the presidential address, G.P. Suresh Babu, chairman, academic council, Nehru Memorial Model Secondary School said that TheHindu was a window to the world.

T.S. Lakshminarasimhan, Regional General Manager of TheHindu, Thiruvananthapuram, inaugurated The Hindu Newspaper in Education Programme. Sivadasan, chairman of the school, announced the names of the students who topped the All India Secondary School Examinations. He said the Newspaper in Education programme conducted by The Hindu during the last two years had benefited the students. Cash awards on behalf of Nehru Memorial Educational and Charitable Trust, Attupuram, and prizes from teachers were given to toppers in AISSE exams.
