NEW DELHI: A vacation Bench of the Delhi High Court has refused to take up for hearing the television expose case of alleged nexus between defence and prosecution lawyers for winning over an eyewitness in the BMW hit-and-run case of 1999. It said it would be better if the case was heard by the Bench that had taken cognisance of it suo motu. A Division Bench comprising Justice J. P. Singh and Justice S. Murlidhar posted the matter for further hearing on July 2.
CDs handed over
Earlier, the Registrar-General of the High Court informed the Bench that news channel NDTV had handed over all records, including unedited compact discs, of the sting operation to it. He later handed over the records to the Bench. A Division Bench comprising Justice M. K. Sharma and Justice Sanjiv Khanna had on May 31 taken suo motu cognisance of the expose.
