Blast at medical college hospital

Staff Reporter

Students allege that it is by some miscreants to scare them

BERHAMPUR: A loud blast occurred near the gynaecology ward of MKCG medical college hospital on Monday night at around 9.15 pm.

No one was injured but it created a panic at the hospital.

Berhampur University, Santosh Das, president of the Welfare club of Berhampur University who was attacked and injured by some miscreants on Monday was admitted at the hospital. His supporters alleged that it was the handiwork of their rivals to panic them.

Two weeks ago a similar blast had occurred at the same spot at the medical college and near the quarters of a teacher of the medical college. The Berhampur Superintendent of Police (SP), Dayal gangwar had to rush to the spot to pacify the situation.

After initial investigation police has termed the three blasts at MKCG medical college explosion of crackers. The SP promised to nab the miscreants behind these blasts and attackers of Santosh within two days.

But the city Congress has linked the attack on Santosh and the blasts at medical college with deteriorating law and order situation in the city.

City Congress president said attack on student leaders by non-students and blasts at the medical college campus in the presence of police proves that miscreants are moving without fear.
