TIRUPATI: In view of the heat generated by the much-delayed elections scheduled for June 17 to the Tirupati Co-Op Bank, the largest urban co-op bank in the State, the district police top-brass led by Superintendent of Police Sasidhar Reddy has on Tuesday held another round of discussion with Election Officer K. Balaram Reddy and other officials engaged in the poll duty.

Security arrangements

Accompanied by the DSP of Tirupati Rajaiah and other officials, the SP also visited the SV University Campus School premises, the venue for the elections, and supervised security arrangements for the polls.

Setting at rest the rumours in the bank circles that the elections might be either cancelled or postponed on certain `technical grounds', the Election Officer has, in a press note issued, asserted that the polling would be held between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. and the results announced the same night.

Production of photo ID card issued by the bank is mandatory at the polling booths and added that a coordination meeting was being convened on June 13 .
