Children with heart ailments identified

Hyderabad: More than 200 children were screened at the free cardiac screening camp held at Gandhi Hospital here on Tuesday.

Of them 105 were identified as having heart ailment. Of the identified cases 63 were referred to Gandhi Hospital, 20 to corporate hospitals and 20 to Pune.

The screening camp was jointly organised by the Gandhi Hospital and Sadhu Vaswany Mission. Hyderabad Collector R.V. Chandravadan, who inaugurated the screening camp said the Government was doing its best to help poor children suffering from cardiac problems. He urged the corporate hospitals to come forward and conduct free surgeries on the kids. P. Balaraju, superintendent, Gandhi Hospital, B.T. Prasad, head, Cardio Thoracic surgery, were present on the occasion.
