One killed as bus falls into tank

BANGALORE: One person was killed and about 20 were injured, five of them seriously, when a private bus overturned and fell into a tank in Doddaballapur taluk in Bangalore Rural district on Tuesday.

The police said that around 8 a.m. the bus fell into the partially dried up Aralu Mallige tank near Halahalli, three kilometres from Doddaballapur. The bus was bound for Doddaballapur from Nelamangala.

Anil (24), a resident of Halahalli, was killed on the spot. He was reportedly travelling on the footboard.
