Girl slips into septic tank, dies

Girl slips into septic tank, dies

An eight-year-old girl, Kishtamma, died after slipping into a septic tank of a building under construction at Miyapur on Tuesday. The girl's mother Ramulamma, who collects garbage from houses in Neelimanagar, was sitting near the building and having lunch while the girl started playfully moving around the tank and slid into it accidentally. On hearing the girl's cries, passersby rushed to the septic tank and managed to pull out the girl. However, Kishtamma fell unconscious by that time. She was rushed to a private hospital where doctors pronounced her brought dead.

Charred body found

The charred body of an unidentified man aged about 25 years was found on the bank of Musi river close to the Uppal-Nagole road on Tuesday. L.B. Nagar police suspect that the victim was strangled to death somewhere before the body was set on fire near the river. Tyre marks on the path leading to the main road suggested that the body was brought there in a car.

Labourer drowns

A labourer, Vikram, 19, who was engaged for cleaning a pond in Public Garden at Nampally, died after slipping into the waters. A daily-wage earner, the victim used to live on pavements.
