An Aussie can be a good India coach

Ricky Ponting said that Australian coaches have the requisite experience to coach at the highest level.

To a pointed query from television channels on the "alleged belief that Sunil Gavaskar opposed Dav Whatmore's candidature because he is an Australian", Ponting replied: "I really cannot talk much about your coach selection process but we do have a lot of Australian coaches who have done exceedingly well, for instance Tom Moody with Sri Lanka."

And when the electronic media kept prodding him on the subject, as a humorous aside, Ponting laughed and said: "I don't know whether Sunny has any problems with Australians. I really don't know." — Principal Correspondent
