Kozhikode: The Kerala Municipal Corporation Workers’ Association, affiliated to the INTUC, has demanded that the Anti-Malarial Wing of the Kozhikode Corporation take effective steps to check the outbreak of chikungunya in various parts of the State. Earlier, the Anti-Malarial Wing functioned as a separate wing with four different units. But after 1991, the wing was disbanded and made to function under 16 Circle Inspectors of the Corporation, said M. Rajan, association president. He said that the anti-malarial drive was carried out only in four circles of the Corporation.
