Lack of approach roads makes the ride tiresome

Staff Reporter

Mud road with potholes on it becomes a pond

BUMPY RIDE: Vehicle users and pedestrians find it difficult to pass the Uthukuli Road near Two-span bridge in Tirupur as rain water stagnates on either sides of the approach road.

TIRUPUR: Lack of proper approach roads to the newly-constructed bridge on Uthukuli Road near the two-span bridge causes much inconvenience to the motorists and pedestrians in Tirupur. The elevated bridge replaced a low level one in order to prevent stagnation of drainage on the road. Following the requests from the public the Tirupur Municipality blocked the traffic movement on two-span railway underpass and widened the bridge nearby to carry the sewerage. But what makes the public disappointed is the delay in forming the approach roads by the Highways Department on either side of road. The mud road with potholes on it turned to be a pond and offers tiresome driving experience to those cross the bridge. Municipal officials say they had asked the Highways Department to form a cement road. works.
