Chief Minister to urge officials to bestow personal attention on ‘Kalyanamastu’

Hyderabad: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) expects about 25,000 marriages to be performed across the State in the second phase of ‘Kalyanamastu’ programme on August 26 if proper publicity is given.

This was conveyed to Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy by TTD Board Chairman B. Karunakar Reddy on Wednesday at a review meeting.

A press release from the Chief Minister’s Office said Dr. Reddy would ask district Collectors, SPs and other officials during the next video conference to bestow personal attention to ensure that the programme would be a big success. He asked the Panchayat Raj Department to fully involve sarpanches in the programme.

The Chief Minister said participation of the Archaka Welfare Association in the programme would be a big help to the TTD.

According to Mr. Karunakar Reddy, DPROs, DRDA Project Directors, self-help groups and anganwadi workers would also be involved in the programme.
