Congress cadre to be trained

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The PCC has come out with modules for soft skills, communication and public speaking skills in particular, for its cadre. Training in communication skills and spokesmanship forms one of the important constituents in the party’s political training classes being held here from June 17 to 25.

The camp is basically aimed at disseminating information about achievements of Congress Governments at the State and central level. But the participants will be trained, among other things, in effective media management for ensuring positive publicity on the programmes launched by the Congress Governments. “We are planning to invite professors and senior journalists to impart training in these aspects to the leaders,” PCC president K. Keshava Rao says.

According to Dr. Rao, senior Congress leader like Manishankar Ayyar, Priyaranjan Dasmunshi and Mukul Wasnik had been invited to participate and educate the leaders about the developments at State and Central levels. About 2,000 mandal level leaders are expected to participate in the camp. Training would be organised in batches and Ministers and senior leaders would train them on different issues. AICC general secretary and AP affairs in-charge Digvijay Singh will participate in the valedictory of the first batch on June 19.
