NEW DELHI: Tata Indicom on Thursday introduced the `Freedom Call Voucher' scheme, offering unlimited free local calls within its own mobile and fixed-line networks. The Rs. 325 pre-paid card comes with Rs.150 talk-time and 30-day validity. Local outgoing calls to other mobile phones will be charged at 49 paise per minute, while tariffs for calls to other fixed-line networks have been fixed at 99 paise. Similarly, STD rates will be Rs. 2.49 per minute. Tata Indicom also introduced a range of attractive colour handsets at competitive entry prices starting from Rs. 1,499 and bundled with the `Go Active Regular' starter packs. The starter pack, priced at Rs. 299, gives subscribers the free incoming facility for a year and 1,000 minutes of free Tata-to-Tata calls with six-month validity. Speaking at a press conference here on Thursday, Tata Teleservices President (Consumer Business) Naresh Malhan said, "This offer has been launched in all our circles and will provide greater value to our prepaid customer. According to company's Chief Operating Officers (Delhi circle) Debashish Sur, "Free on-net outgoing calls at just Rs. 325 a month will redefine the prepaid market and this will contribute towards consolidating our incremental market position.''
