Punjab boys overcame Rajasthan 86-71 in Group `A' of the junior National basketball championships at the District Sports Authority courts here on Thursday. At half-time, the winner led 44-35.

The day's highest individual tally came from Punjab's Lovedeep, whose whopping 33 points had five three-pointers.

Andhra Pradesh girls got the better of Haryana 79-56 after leading 39-26 half-way through. The host's assault on the rival backboard was sustained as its forwards breached the brittle Haryana defence repeatedly. If Anjana Chowdary's offensive rebounding was splendid, so was B. Radhika's outside shooting.
