GANDHINAGAR: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has come under attack from the Opposition leaders for display of his photograph on biscuit packets meant for distribution among malnourished children and pregnant women as part of the Integrated Child Development Scheme. Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Arjun Modhvadia said it was unfortunate that Mr. Modi, who was caught earlier in the controversy of printing of his photographs on schoolbags, was "using children as pawns in his electoral games." Mr. Modi had also faced criticism for photographs on condom packets distributed under a scheme. Distribution of biscuit packets, under the State Government's "Bal-Bhog" scheme, was launched on Wednesday. The scheme would cost about Rs. 105 crore a year and benefit about 36 lakh children and poor women. A Government spokesman said the Chief Minister was not aware about photographs on biscuit packets. The Ahmedabad Roller Flour Mills Association manufactured the packets and the Government had no role to play in this, he added.
