Gesture to HIV-affected children
CHENNAI: Staff of Scope International, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Standard Chartered Bank, have contributed more than Rs.2 lakh to support the educational needs of 84 HIV-affected children this academic year.
The cheques for the amount were handed over to Kausalya, President of Positive Women’s Network, by chief guest Supriya Sahu, Project Director, Tamil Nadu AIDS Control Society at a function held recently. Ms. Sahu said apart from medical attention, it was important to integrate these children into the mainstream.
Sreeram Iyer, CEO of Scope International, commended the staff for volunteering to proactively espouse the cause of such children. A magic show and game stalls were part of the function.
