HUBLI: Basavaraj Bommai, MLC, has taken exception to the slow progress of the Kalasa-Banduri Nala Project and has alleged that no attempt was being made to expedite work on it. In a letter to Minister for Water Resources K.S. Eshwarappa, which was released to the press here on Thursday, Mr. Bommai said importance was being given to publicity rather than implementation of the project. While work on only 700 meters of the 4.8-km long Kalasa Nala had been completed, officials were yet to complete the survey work on the realignment of the Banduri Nala even after a year, he added. Mr. Bommai has urged the Minister to visit the project site and review the work. On the reported statement of Congress president Sonia Gandhi on the Mahdayi diversion, he said a delegation should be taken to meet the Ministers and the Prime Minister on the issue.
