KOLLAM: A meeting of the district unit of the Vyapara Thozhil Samrakshana Samithy has decided to ensure the success of the Raj Bhavan dharna on June 26 and the march on June 27 by traders and workers. General secretary of the Quilon Merchant’s Chamber of Commerce, Netaji Rajendran said 5,000 traders and 1500 workers from Kollam would take part in the march. The dharna and march were being organised in protest against eviction of small traders. Mr. Rajendran said the march was being taken out in protest against the entry of monopolists into the retail trading sector in the State. Traders would observe a hartal on June 27, he said.
