BHUBANESWAR: The southwest monsoon has finally arrived on Orissa coast effecting rain in many parts of the State during last 24 hours. The local met office said southwest monsoon had further advanced into some more parts of some parts of Orissa. "Northern limit of monsoon passes through latitude of 16.0 degree north and longitude of 60.0 degree E of Vengurla, Gulbarga, Nizamabad, Ramagundam, Gopalpur, Balasore, Ranchi, Gaya and Gorakhpur," officials said. There was a sigh of relief when interior districts, which had been going through high humid conditions for past several weeks, experienced first shower of rains of the season. Intermittent rain
The coastal districts where intermittent rain was recorded included Puri, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Ganjam, Bhadrak and Balasore. Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Kandhamal and Kalahandi were some interior districts where rainfall was witnessed during the past 24 hours, the met office sources said. Rain or thundershower was likely at many places during the next 24 hours.Sky would be cloudy at many places.
