Governor’s wife hospitalised

CUTTACK: Narmada Thakur, wife of Governor Rameswar Thakur, was admitted to SCB medical college and hospital here on Thursday after she was taken ill. She complained of respiratory problems and chest pain in the morning and was shifted to the Cuttack hospital following the advice of Raj Bhawan hospital doctors. She was admitted to the ICU of cardiology department of the hospital for observation as she had undergone angioplasty surgery recently, sources said.

"She is absolutely having no cardiac problems but was breathless due to pneumonia," said Dr Mrityunjay Behera, head of the cardiology department of the hospital. She was under observation of a team of doctors and is out of danger, he added.

Rameswar Thakur, who is also Governor of Andhra Pradesh, immediately returned back to Orissa from Hyderabad and rushed to the Cuttack hospital in the afternoon.
