BERHAMPUR: Angry over non-availability of doctors a mob of local villagers ransacked the community health centre (CHC), tehsil office, block office and office of the Child Development Project Officer at Patrapur in Ganjam district on Thursday afternoon. They also destroyed four vehicles and beat up the Patrapur tehsildar, Khetramohan Nayak. Death of a youth, Narasimha Mohanty of Sagar street of Patrapur, who was injured by lightning at around 1.30 pm, sparked the violence. Villagers had carried injured Mohanty to local CHC. Only a pharmacist and a peon were present there. Mohanty died for want of proper medical help. This irked villagers demanding appointment of regular doctor.
