Fire breaks out in paint making company

CHENNAI: A fire broke out in a paint manufacturing company in Red Hills on Thursday.
The fire and rescue service personnel brought it under control in two-and-half hours. There were no casualties.
Around 20 labourers present at the factory, located at Vinayagapuram Kadirvedu village in Tiruvallur district, ran to safety when the fire broke out. According to a senior officer of the Fire and Rescue Services department, 13 fire tenders, including five foam tenders, were alos deployed.
The officer said the fire emanated from the production area where the raw materials stocked were destroyed.
A case has been registered and the loss would was being estimated, the officer said. The cause of the fire was not known.
