COIMBATORE: Bharathiar University has got new appointees for some of its key posts, its Vice-Chancellor G. Thiruvasagam said here recently. “B. Krishnamoorthy will be the Controller of Examinations; M.A. Kandasamy, the Dean of the College Development Council, and N. To fill up the long pending vacancies of faculty in the university departments, 17 appointments consisting of professors, readers and lecturers had been made. “Another 70 have to be filled”, said Dr. Thiruvasagam. The university had decided to increase the remuneration of college teachers for paper evaluation. Teachers evaluating undergraduate examinations would be paid Rs. 8 instead of Rs. 6. Those evaluating post-graduate papers would be paid Rs. 12 instead of Rs. 10. The Chief Superintendent would be paid Rs. 125 instead of Rs. 100 per day. Teaching faculty
Teaching faculty, who were yet to qualify in either the State Level Eligibility Test or National Eligibility Test examination, would be given a two-year extension to get the same, he said.
