The modern seamless knitting machine will cost Rs.1 crore
TIRUPUR: Italian knitting machinery major Santoni SPA has in principle agreed to donate a state-of-the-art seamless knitting machine to the NIFT-TEA Knitwear Fashion Institute here. According to a release from the institute Principal G.S. Jayapragasham, the institute was taking efforts to tie-up with one of the famous fashion institutes of Italy, Machina lonato Fashion and Design Institute, promoted by Santoni SPA group of companies. In this regard, Raja M. Shanmugam, vice-chairman (Finance) of NIFT-TEA Knitwear Fashion Institute visited the institute recently and had preliminary discussion with Santoni’s chairman. He had agreed to donate on modern seamless knitting machine to the institute costing around Rs.1 crore. Mr. Jayapragasham said that they have taken up the matter with the Government of India for clearing of the machine. “Once we get the permission, they will ship the machine that is ready for dispatch,” he adds.
