Boycotting classes: Students of LRG Government Arts College for Women staging sit-in agitation after boycotting classes in Tirupur on Thursday.
TIRUPUR: Nearly 1,000 students at the LRG Government Arts College for Women on Palladam Road staged a sit-in agitation after boycotting classes for a brief while protesting the delay in construction of the compound wall here on Thursday.
Heavy rain
The compound wall facing the highway collapsed several months ago due to heavy rain. The students complained that the college lacked privacy and there was no security for their vehicles.
Following the intervention of local MLA C. Govindasamy they withdrew their agitation. He promised the protesting students to construct the wall in ten days.
