OU degree pass percentage dips

HYDERABAD: The pass percentage of Osmania University degree examination dropped drastically this year with only 49.38 per cent of students clearing the final year examination as against 60.37 per cent last year.

Releasing the results here on Thursday, Suleman Siddiqi, Vice-Chancellor of OU, said that 3.16 lakh students appeared for the examination including those with backlogs.

The results were declared in 46 days. Prof. Siddiqi attributed the drop in results to the revision of syllabus and mushrooming of new colleges that lacked good faculty and proper facilities.

Candidates can collect their memos from their respective colleges after June 20 while the last date for applying for revaluation or recounting was July 10. Temporary memos could be obtained on payment of Rs. 25 from June 15 onwards.
