J&K police, CBI higher-ups in city

Sameer, alleged LeT operative, denies involvement in blast

HYDERABAD: A senior police officer of Jammu & Kashmir and higher-ups of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrived in the city on Thursday in connection with the bomb explosion inside Mecca masjid. Some of them reportedly had a meeting with the city police top brass and reviewed the ongoing investigation into the blast case.

Meanwhile, police sources said that Sameer, an alleged operative of Lashkar-e-Taiba who is in police custody presently did not reveal any vital clues leading to the culprits behind the explosion. He reportedly denied involvement in the blast and stated that he neither met nor heard of Shahed alias Bilal, the alleged mastermind behind the blast in Mecca masjid. The city Special Investigation Cell has decided to go ahead with the narco-analysis test on. Sameer. .
