Passengers irked

KOCHI: Unruly scenes were witnessed at the international airport at Nedumbassery, near here, on Thursday after Kozhikode-bound passengers of an Air-India Express flight picked up a quarrel with airline authorities over diversion of the flight. The flight, no. IX 474, operating on the Doha-Bahrain-Kozhikode-Kochi sector did not land in Kozhikode owing to inclement weather. As many as 110 passengers who were to disembark there refused to come out of the aircraft for almost two hours, insisting that they be flown to Kozhikode. The airline authorities offered to take them by an air-conditioned coach. The passengers then asked for cabs and the authorities obliged.
