CHENNAI: Parryware Roca Pvt. Ltd, a 50:50 joint venture between EID Parry and Roca Sanitario, plans to invest 100 million euro (Rs. 540 crore) for its expansion programme. Addressing a press conference here on Friday, K. E. Ranganathan, Managing Director, Parryware Roca, said the investment would be infused into all the four plants to increase their capacities and also to bring in new technology know-how. Currently, all these units were producing Parryware products. With the Roca tie-up, the company proposed to transfer Roca technology from Spain to these plants. Mr. Ranganathan said the four plants were producing 4.5 million units of sanitary products annually. With the technology transfer and expansion of capacity, it would produce nearly six million units, he added.
Exclusive dealers
The company would also add 40 new showrooms (Roca exclusive showrooms and common showrooms) across the country. So far 15 such showrooms had been opened in the last two months. There would also be 50 exclusive Roca dealers in India, said Emilio Salazar, Deputy Managing Director, Parryware Roca. Mr. Ranganathan said the total sanitaryware market was Rs. 850 crore. Of this, the organised sector accounted for Rs. 450 crore.
MoU
Today, the company entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Chennai-based Vijay Shanthi builders for its Roca products.
